Our home for two nights was a true-to-life 1850 castle. Peckforton Castle was built as a residence for John Tollemache, the largest land owner in Cheshire at the time. The castle stayed in the Tollemache family until 1988 when it was sold to an American, Evelyn Graybill, for £1 million. She converted the property into a hotel. In 2006, Chris Naylor was married in the castle and the Naylor family subsequently bought it. It is now a five-star hotel and wedding and corporate event venue.
