Mt Taylor New Mexico

New Mexico Landscape

This 11,305 foot mountain in Northwest New Mexico is named after President Zachary Taylor. Mt. Taylor has other names of Cebolleta by the Spanish and Tsoodzil by the Najavo’s. The mountain is sacred to several of the surrounding Native American tribes. The mountain is surrounded by a huge lava bed that it produced by possible multiple eruptions in times past.
