Dear Paul, I was a "playtron" dressed as a country peasant in a straw hat and snood at Scarborough during the cold, rainy Sunday on 4/6. You came around and handed my friend and me a hand warmer. I just wanted to thank you for the selfless and generous act. It was my first day back for the season and I hope to see you again so I can thank you in person. :)
Just bought a cool hat from Excalibur Leather and saw the link to this gallery. Absolutely super. Went through all the Renfaire photos and some others. Thanks!
will you be at Saturday Celtic Christmas Faire?? I love your pictures of Faire. Great work!
I love the way you are able to capture the most flattering and pretty expressions! You have a great eye for color and beauty. Nice job!
Nice stuff. I've juste shared it to my friends

Is there any way I could order one or two of your photos from TRF?? If so, what is the cost? You captured my daughter in costume and , of course, Mom would like one!
Your photo's are bueatiful, Stop by the Neptune's Swing would love to have you/see pretty pictures of ourselves...muahahaha
My name is Brian Nelson and i am looking for some pictures for my facebook and myspace pages. I am 54, 6 foot tall, i work at Legacy Forge. I wear a black pirate hat with red trim, black leather vest with red fabric and lots of bling. You took pictures of me at Scarby this past year. If you have any please send to Briannelson87@yahoo.com. Thank you
P. S. Your pictures are the best.
Paul, your photographs are THE BEST, WONDERFUL!!! I´m Alicia, from Buenos Aires, Argentina
I so enjoy looking at your photos. i check back a few times every year to see what is new. I am sorry to see that you have had to limit the original images. I can only imagine that you must be running short on space. Good work and I hope you will be able to keep it up for many years to come.
When will the Celtic Christmas pictures be up for the Texas Renaissance Festival?
I found your site when looking for photos from ren faires. They are beautiful, the photos and the people. I wonder if anyone has used the photos as inspiration for drawings. I would like to if it is all right with the people hosting the website.
Paul, your work is awesome!
I have a Canon camera too. But not a 1-D Mark III. Sadly, only an XSi. I just bought a Tamron 18-270 lens that I can't wait to try out at the Carolina Renn Faire.
I wish I could afford a Canon professional lens and a better camera body.
Thanks for doing such great work!
Aye Paul, I've sended your photo's round tae world. Thae make me and many o'ers wish we lived at tae Ren Faire. What a grand life it would be! You're photo's make this world a little easier to handle. We know we can always escape our daily woes and go to the world we all so love by what you have given us through your eyes and lens. Godspeed, Aye
Your masterly portraits remember me of the old masters of painting.

Your pictures keep me sane while I am taking a break from full time Renfaire work, stuck in the godforsaken frozen north of Minnesota. You remind me what joy there is to come back to! I am glad to see you're posting again, keep up this wonderful work and take good care of yourself.
Have you a email? :-)
I saw the picture you took of me at Scarbrough Faire last year. It's a wonderful shot and I'll be sure to return this year. Yours truly, Bookfae <3
These photographs are by far the best I have ever seen of Scarborough Faire. However, there was one that I particularly liked and it was in the Really Hot gallery. It was of a young man and I believe he had either a green or grey hat. He was looking off into the distance with a pensive look in his eyes, yet I do not see it in the gallery now. Can you tell me what happened? I just loved the composition and feel of the emotion in the photo. Can you help me?
Hi Paul, Thanks for the advice. The flash works excellent. My shots are so much more vibrant now and no more auto settings. I'm also in the market for a better lens. The Scarborough Faire is my new favorite place to be and I hope I'll run into you next year. Have a great Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
An enchanting set of galleries and a real pleasure to look through.
Very nice work. I hope we run past each other this year. Take care and keep shooting!
Wonderful work. I found your galleries whilst searching for EF 100-400mm images, a lens I am considering buying very soon. You certainly have made some excellent portraits with this lens.
Thanks for sharing. Barry
Paul, you are sorely missed at TRF this year! Whenever I need a faire fix I visit your galleries or Stalkwell's, and when I want to show someone what faire is about, I just send them the link to your lovely images. Thanks for sharing your gift with us, We look forward to seeing you in the future.

Paul, I just wanted to take a moment of your time to tell you, "THANK YOU" for sharing your wonderful gift and 'eye'. Your briefly captured moments in time are like sweet thoughts dancing in my mind... and soul. The subjects you photograph are not just people in costumes... they are my friends... my family... of many years. You do us a great honour, sir.
Thank you, very much.
Richard A. McShan... (a.k.a. Sir Richard Silver, Sir Terence Wegleswerth, the Pure (~wiggy~)...
Peace and blessed be.
Absolutely astounding! Keep up the good work.
You have an awesome collection of photographs, specially the ones of the renaissance festivals... I love candid photography and I am amazed by your collection.
Absolutely beautiful photos...you are very talented!
You are by far the best portrait photographer I has ever seen. You have the ability to not only capture the moment but to really see the subject. If youre not a professional you should be. Thank you for sharing you fantastic photos.
I've only been going to the faires for two years now. Man, what have I been missing???
Thanks for all the wonderful photos of Scarborough... and thanks for being there!
These are some great pics! I was wondering if there is an archive of old pics from previous years. I know you've gotten pics of me at TRF, but I can't seem to find them. It says they come and go, but how can I dig one up of me? HELP! =)
Hey, Paul. It's Autumn, Mary's oldest daughter. (Horn Shoppe's Mary) I just want to say "Thank you so much for every picture you have taken out at Scarby this year." I hope that at least one of the ones you took of the yellow ribbon on my arm for my husband gets posted here so I can send it to him via e-mail. *hugs* Again I want to say thank you. Hope to see you out at TRF!
haha.. you got a good picture of my wife! and the image quality is to die for.. I've always known cannon makes incredible cameras.
Truly enjoyed your galleries of Scarby - but next time I will smile when I see you !!! :>
You take such beautiful pictures. Thank You so much for all the pictures of me. What do you do with the pictures you take off? Keep up the wonderful work...
Your work inspires me to see the beautiful. It goes by so quickly. If I stopped and took the time to look a little closer, maybe I would begin to see more of the world that you capture in your art. Thank you for sharing your vision with us.
hi. its ashleigh.i was wondering if you found anything about that picture i asked about.GX9W0523.jpg. this is the number at the bottom of my picture but my boyfriends picture is off so i dont know how to get a picture of him to you so you know what to look for.please let me know if you found anything.finding this means a lot to me. thank you. ashleigh.
Enjoy your folks work it is very good. Have notices a few favorite subjects at TRF, looking through all the pics. Just happen to notice, they are friends of mine. You have also caught a lot of use from Renniassance Festival.com. And they have enjoyed all of them. But as I joke with them, how can he miss a pirate with a blue parrot on his shoulder. Keep up the good work, look forward to next years pics...
Do you ever visit the Maryland Renaissance? It is one of the biggest and best in the country! It would be fun to see through your lens in Crownsville, MD next year at the 30th anniversary.
Paul & Hollie,
Martha and I have seen you at many of the same faires over the last few years. Until today I have never seen any of your work. I am so impressed and very inspired. Your art truly captures the spirit of the faires and the essence of each character. Five stars for technical excellence; five more for the magic that each photo contains.

My wife and I are flattered and grateful you put our family on your web site. You have a keen eye and your ability to capture the "essence" of each Ren Faire is remarkable.
Paul & Lynn C.
I absolutely love these pictures! Thank you so much for posting! Sometimes I'm working so hard out at TRF I forget how beautiful everything is out there. These remind me. Thanks again
You are an amazing photographer! I worked at the Texas Ren Fest in 2001 and was looking for pics from my season on the web. I happened upon your site and although there are none of my cast year on it (due to beginning 1 year after I did TRF), I looked at every page anyway because they were so beautiful - especially the ones with children. Do you take bookings? Would you be willing to meet me at TRF this season and shoot some of my daughter (1 year) and me? Please let me know cost, availability and desire. You can see some of my family photos at
Excellent photos! You really have The Eye (tm) for photographing people.
Absolutely gorgeous photos.. you need to come to our Ren Faire in Bristol Wisconsin.. A huge and beautiful Faire/grounds. Check out the website!
I do enjoy your work. Thanks Sharyon Thompson
Paul, I love looking at Faire through your eyes.
S David Brister
Paul, I truly admire your work. You seem to capture the very essence of the "character" with your photography. Since I live in Georgia, this also lets me see what my daughter is engaged in.
I am ever so grateful and flattered that you not only took my picture, but included it in one of your galleries. Your pictures are all wonderful, and you have a way of catching just the right momment for each picture. My son is still hopping around and telling everyone of his picture on your page from the first weekend of Scarborough, and also of how his mommy is also pictured there not only once but twice. Thank you for all the happiness and wonderful memories.
With highest reqards,
Dame Adoralynn MacSiurtain

Just stumbled across this page - your photos are beautiful!
Thank you for including me in your fantastic galleries. It flatters me to think that I am pictured beside some of the great members of the cast of Scarborough. Your pictures are always magnificent, and you have a talent of finding the best moment to take a picture. Some of my fondest memories of the season have been captured by your camera, and I thank you for that as well.
Captain Mercibelle Sophia Alianne Gratal, a humble pirate always at your service, good sir.
Thank you ever so much for choosing me as a subject for one of your photographs, I must say I am truly flattered! My compliments to your compsitions, for it has been a joy to wander throughout your gallaries.
With highest Regards,

I always enjoy seeing you out at Scarborough! it is a pleasure to come back from the Faire and see your photo's. I always have missed some of the people that you have seen, and capture so well! Perhaps one day my photos will look this good!
yet another awesome batch of pictures, you rock! thank you,
I'm writing on behalf of a Hong Kong educational publishing company. We would like to request for permission of the use of your photo titled "Patrick.jpg". Would you mind telling us your e-mail address so that we can discuss in details? My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I found your pictures through renaissancefestival.com. I hope you don't mind but I'm putting some of them up on my fotopage. You have full credit for each picture and in my entry for the photo page I have mentioned where you can be found at renaissancefestival.com and in a minute I'm about to put a link for this website. I don't have my own website, but I love your pictures (not stealing them so you know) and I need a place to post them so I can have friends examine the wings and see if we can find a way as to how some of the faerie wings are made. I hope this isn't a problem. I take no credit for the photos and I will put a link in the fotopage entry.
Hello to a truly wonderful photographer...Your pictures are truly amazing and I am honored to be one of your favorites. I am Tracy at Tomatoe Torture and you have photographed me 03 & 04 at TRF. Thankyou for sharing your amazing talents with everyone. Hope your year is full of many blessings :-) Tracy
Thank you for lovely visions seen through your lens and shared with us all to the great delight of us, the non-photographically gifted multitude. This is your ever faithful washer wench; I am seeking some photos of my sweet new cousin eureka, and our wit(wench in training)ginger. There are few photos of these wenches on our site(washingwellwenches.com)and certainly none as spectacular as what you shared with us. Do you have any more of these photos in e-mailable form? If so, could you send them to my e-mail address, Im so 15th century in my technological talents, so I certainly understand if they have already been erased or cant be sent or whatever else cyber space does to "stuff". Again thank you for your capturing of these magical fleeting moments.
