While I was staying on Sangalaki, there was a turtle hatching. From the beach, the tiny turtles head towards the water as fast as possible. And once in the water they head straight out to sea. I got this shot by lying in the shallow water directly in their path; but all except this one swam far around me.

The disk rationalisation continues. Right now Adobe DNG converter is converting 12329 raw files to dng. There are 2417 remaining in this batch. It has been running for 20 hours so far ...
Meanwhile, this is another that turned up during the cleanup. I seem to have lost the original - at that time I wasn't very careful with filing originals, so I have no idea what may have happened to it. So this is based on the best I could do in 2003, plus a bit of more recent expertise used to reduce the amount of backscatter from sand in the water.
