This beautiful butterfly isn't a painted lady but a small tortoiseshell (aglais urticae) it is smaller than the painted lady 4,2- 4,5 cm , 6cm for the painted lady and it has blue little circle on the posterior wings. A big vote. Anna

Nothing wrong with a little paint on a lady, if she can look as good as this winged angel face!
