I lived on town send 1594 to 1598 now a public school. I have long wanted to know what happened to Mrs bees girls who were a bit older than me. Hot chocolate with extra whip in winter and extra sprinkles on the cone in summer. Can it be so long ago?

I lived on 175 between walton and townsend. We walked 175 under the Grand Concourse, became morris ave and at 174 we turned up 174 to PS 70. I believe that I graduated PS 70 in 1954, went on to Wade 117, and graduated Taft HS in 1960. I remember the large Kosher Deli on the corner of 174th. Many of these years were prior to the construction of the X-Bronx.

Yes! Mrs. B's! Luncheonette counter, egg creams, comic books and candy. And the supermarket I remember was the Associated! the far end of the street was Townsend ave, a block south is Mount Eden- A world of Stores and Stories-

And across and down the street was the "little park" not much greenery but it had swings and a slide and a sand box. We played ball in the park. It might have had a sprinkler in the middle.

The old store fronts on 174th Street (1631 Walton Avenue apartment building )were as follows: Mrs. B's candy store, Powder Box beauty parlor, small grocery store, Kaufmann furniture fabrication.. and at the corner of Townsend Avenue was a supermarket...
