I grew up in the east Bronx but visited my grandmother on Davidson ave every week up the steps from the 176th irt station on Jerome. Loved my Bronx life. Left for the burbs at 14.

I lived on Davidson Ave when Mazza was the Super. Lived in the small house next to 1726, ..these pictures brought back memories. Grew up there from 1946.. house is not there now..remover all the steps and lots and walked to church in featherbed lane. Schull was a couple of doors down and use to shut off lights for Rabbi when it was the sabbath..

keith k lived at 1711 davidson 1957to1962 mazza was the supt at that time used to play rite on that landing by the stairs. my friends grandmother use to call them ...butchy aboby a billy remember like it was yesterday lol

i use to take these stairs every night comming from university i lived in the lewis morris for 17 years and the view at night was real nice you can see all the lights comming the morris.

Thanks for these lovely pictures. My house was on 175th St and Jerome ave right accross the styreet from this picture. Great job. Left the Bronx in 1955.
