We used to go inside the building and walk up and down the stairs and ride the elevators. I remember having so much fun there. My dermatologist, Dr. Selig Eisenberg had his office there and I visited him faithfully every Friday afternoon for my acne.

Hey Linda Zucker, my Lewis Morris mother only shopped at your butcher on Mt Eden Av! I was once left in the family car in front of your family shop, released the brake, & sped down Mt Eden to the Walton Av corner, where I crashed....

It was a beautiful building. I grew up on Monroe Ave and 175th St from 1968 to the 80's.
I had friends that lived in that building, we used to play hide and seek, it was easy to get lost in the building.

I used to live across the street at 1727 Walton Ave. I grew up there and went to school in that neighborhood. This brought back such wonderful memories and the good years. What a good life we had growing up there in the 50s.

Harry, I lived there in the 60's. Great memories, and so many secret sections to play in. Halls of Gitchee Goumy.

This building brings back many memories. The many doors to each apt and hiding places.

I lived in the Lewis Morris from 1971 until 1975.(give or take a year, i was very young)
My older sister Penny and her friends were actually outside when the infamous stairway scenes were shot for the wedding episode of Rhoda.
I have nothing but fond memories of my time there, especially when they would close off the concourse to traffic so that we could play and ride bikes.

When I was a little girl visiting my grandparents I loved to play with the stray cats that lived in the building.

I lived in this building from age 2 to a about age 6 or 7, this was late 1940s early 1950s. I used to play in the elevators, stairs, fire escapes and of course outside on the sidewalk and in the parks. Times have changed!

I have great memories of the Lewis Morris building. My grandparents lived there until the late 1960's and we would drive down from Boston for frequent visits and the Jewish holidays. Myself and my sisters would get so excited just thinking about these visits . My grandmother was a great cook and the house always had great smells and lots of relatives visiting. I am planning to be in the Bronx for a visit next month and will go back to the old neighborhood just for fun and the memories.
