Another busy day with a lot of staff and students
out sick. Another "where my money goes" shot on
my drive home. Thought I would share the price of
gas here in midwest America. For our European
visitors, that is price per gallon and not liter.

That's really high compared to what I remember from when I lived in the states, but that was a while ago. I hadn't realized it had got that high. I remember when a dollar a gallon was a horror. It now looks especially high for me because our prices are in liter and in pounds, and nowadays a pound is up to nearly 2 dollars, but I'm sure ours are at least double that.
Get an electric. I've heard they are more available in the states than here. We are really loving ours. Got a cheap second hand Reva, classed as a city car, range 40 miles, maximum speed 40 mph. We use it for all our local driving. Still need the other car for long trips and the motorways, but it cuts way down on our petrol use, and costs about a penny per mile electricity from plugging into the garage plus a little for distilled water. (This morning she got her second watering.)
