St Lawrence College is a tri campus institution, Brockville, Cornwall and Kingston, this was the inter-campus golf tournament.

SMITH, VIKINGS REPEAT CHAMPIONS AT TRI-CAMPUS CUP

(Kingston, ON) For the third consecutive year, Brennan Smith won the individual championship at the SLC Tri-Campus Cup. As well, the Vikings team retained the Tri-Campus Cup, also for the third consecutive year.

"This was a good start to the year for us. Ideally, we would have had lower team score to start the season, but overall the guys played pretty well" said head coach, Rob Brown.

This year's tournament was hosted by the Kingston team at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club, the host course for the Vikings during the golf season.

Coming off three major city championships from the summer, Brennan Smith would shoot a 74 through 18 holes. Only two strokes up on second place Matthew Horton (Kingston). Smith also won the closest to the pin contest on the 8th hole. Richard Barr (Kingston) won the longest drive contest, and Jamie Nicholas would sink a 33' foot put on hole 9, winning the longest put contest.

As a team, the Vikings would shoot 313. Second place, Cornwall Sharks finished with 357, and the Brockville Schooners would have two golfers withdraw at the last minute due to injury. The three remaining golfers would shoot a combined 302.

The Kingston team will play in the Carleton University Invitational on Saturday September 13th, and the Queen's University Invitation on the 14th, before re-joining the Cornwall Sharks at the first Ontario Colleges Athletics Association (OCAA) tournament of the season on Monday September 15th for the Fleming College Invitational in Peterborough, ON.
