ASSELSTINE WINS VIKINGS INVITATIONAL
(Kingston, ON) After finishing fifth at the Fanshawe College Invitational just a week ago, Vikings cross country runner, Rob Asselstine, placed first overall at the SLC-Kingston Vikings Cross Country Invitational in just 26:07, taking off over a minute and half from his time at the Fanshawe race.

Right from the start, Rob positioned himself with the lead group that was completely filled with runners from Queen's University. Towards the final kilometer, Rob and Alex White (Queen's University) broke away from the lead group and dashed for the finish line with White finishing 20 seconds ahead of Asselstine.

Runners from Queens and Royal Military College were exempt from the standings because the race was an official Ontario Colleges Athletics Association (OCAA) Invitational. Meaning that only times from runners with OCAA institutions would be counted.
