The Whig Standard Building 07953.JPG

Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a UNESCO World Heritage Destination view map

The Whig Building was recently purchased by the City of Kingston as permanent office space after renting the premises for five years. I have to some digging to get the whole story on this office block. Initially there were three distinct buildings here. The arched doorways were entry to the Joseph Power designed buildings. The Whig on the right and The Rectory on the left. At some point the in between building was incorporated into the Whig section and at the beginning of the 21st century The Rectory was also opened up to to join The Whig as one complete unit.
