The city of Marlette lured the Port Huron & Northern Railroad into town by raising $15,000 for tracks in 1881. The original Marlette Depot was replaced by this with a dual waiting room and baggage terminal in 1890 when the Flint & Pere Marquette Railroad purchased the Port Huron & Northern. The restored terminal is preserved for history only, having been acquired by the Marlette Historical Society in 1999.
