Hurricane Katrina Aftermath - Sorrow in the Square
If you are a true New Orleanian then you know what it means
- as the famous song says - to miss New Orleans.
On day 40 after hurricane Katrina my wife and I did another
tour of New Orleans and ended up in the French Quarter. We found
very few people other than the overbearing security presence.
At Jackson Square we found Will and Tara of the Willow Family Band.
They were the ONLY street musicians playing today. Will and Tara have been regulars
in the French Quarter for many years.
More information about the band can be found here:

Last month, while evacutated, Will wrote a song about the tragedy
of hurricane Katrina. These images were taken while we listened
and absorbed the sad lyrics.
The future of New Orleans is in question. On day 40 we see
signs of life but recovery is not happening nearly fast enough.
Can the United States afford to lose a great American city?
