Buffalo Memorial Auditorium

Buffalo's Memorial Auditorium has finally met it's match, the great yellow monster by the name of CAT. The home of the Buffalo Bisons, Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Braves, Buffalo Stallions, Buffalo Blizzard and World Champion Buffalo Bandits is finally coming down. I spent years in that building from the time of my first hockey game in 1972 with Tim Horton playing defense and Joe Daley playing goal with no mask, it's a place that holds many memories. My first concert was there, Genesis on February 28, 1977 and The Who on December 4, 1979 the night after the tragic Cincinnati show where 11 people lost their lives to the final Sabres game against Hartford on 4.14.95, memories, experiences and friendships were built and fostered there. The Bandits first World Championship in 1992 and the Ice Capades with mom, Gil Perrault flying up the ice, "May Day, May Day, May Day!", Bob Macadoo posting up to Michael Stipe from REM, the memories come flooding back when I see the inside of that building. Even though I shot the last game, I don't think I have a shot of Pat LaFontaine tapping the puck into the empty net under the spot light, I just wanted to watch. I hope some of these pics spark some of those memories for you as well. Many more images to come.
