After leaving Denali we headed up to Fairbanks where we spent a few days. The two excursions we took was a day trip to the Arctic Circle and another day at the Chetna Hot Springs.
Fred: I really like the Sigma and can't say enough good things about it. Before I left for Alaska I was really looking for a good wide zoom with a little bit of reach and the Sigma on paper was just about perfect. Luckily it worked out in real world usage perfectly. As you can see I used that and my Tokina 400mm 99% of the time.

I greatly enjoyed your pictures. It's been almost 40 years since I drove to Alaska on the Alaskan Highway (gravel road at the time), and then into Alaska. I didn't go as far as you, but it was still a wonderful adventure. Thanks for bringing back the memories.... and giving me the itch to get back up there and camp again in the backwoods. I sure wish I had a digital camera available to me then. Your 17-70 looks like a great lens... I'll probably be getting one after seeing your results. Thanks again for giving me a trip back to my favorite summer.
