"To my mind two distinguishing marks of a traveler are that he exerts himself and that he moves slowly." H.W.Tilman, China to Chitral, 1951.
For myself, producing photographs induces a clarity of attention to our fantastic world. This is the goal of my work: to find hidden beauty, or express in a new way, images. My belief is that this is best done moving slowing; having also expended the mental effort to understand the cultural or scientific relevance of the subject.
Looking at half-speed and feeling through vision, I attempt to discover a mental frame to perhaps focus the mundane into some fresh perspective. This frame is the passion behind whatever ‘art’ I’ve created. It is a personal, sentimental statement, created solely for the private satisfaction of my curious mind.
I am striving to reconnect and recognize a hidden grace in geometry, simplicity or complexity. In a real sense, this creative process is one of my philosophic talisman for being alive.
