The march is the world's largest walking event, and is also one of the world's largest sporting events. Every year the walk starts on the third tuesday in July. The International Four Day's Marches 2005 took place from 19 to 22 July 2005. See also: The International Nijmegen Four Day's Marches

Hey i'm an Air cadet from canada and me,a friend and his dad plan to do the march this year but do cadets count as military or civilian.

I did the Nijmegan marches in 1990 and in 1991 while stationed in Germany in the US Army. I was 18 and 19 yrs old back then. I am now at 40% disability for knees and hip problems and my back went bad last year. I'll probably be at 60 or 70% disability soon. If I had to do it all over again I'd do it. I had a blast both years. They told me I'd never throw away my marching medal and they were right. I've been out of the military and that medal and arthritis is the only thing I've got left. I"d do it again if I had the resourses.

heh I did the Nijmegan MARCHES THIS YEAR iM AN AIR CADET FROM SOUTH AND EAST 'WHEN SOUTH AND EAST GO MARCHING IN'! IT WAS GREAT THANX FOR PUTTING THE PICS UP IVE USED THGEM FOR A PRESENTATION! i WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO NOT TAKE PHOTOS! REGARDS Sght Adamson
