Was born on 12 December, 1869; the 3rd of seven children, & the eldest son born to, Karl Johann Johannssen & his wife, Greta Stina Johannsdotter. We're not sure when he anglicized his name, nor when he migrated to the United States. However, we do know that in 1893, in White Cloud, Newaygo, MI, he married, Alena Barnes. Together, this couple would share four children. William suffered from breathing issues, currently believed to have been tuberculosis. For that reason he located to Denver Colorado, just after the turn of the century. It was there he died on, 22 October 1902. He is buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Newberry, Luce, MI.
