Genealogy / MERRILL

I've been a genealogist for almost twenty years now. I can trace this line back to my 12th great paternal grandfather, Richard Merrill, born in England around 1550. My Merrill's migrated from Nantwich, County Cheshire, England, to Painesville, Lake County Ohio. From there they moved north to Etobicoke, Ontario Canada, where they stayed for almost two decades before returning south back to Painesville. Around 1880 My own Merrill's headed southwest to the plains of Lancaster County Nebraska, where many remain today. Below you'll find some pictures of my MERRILL line. You'll see headstone pictures, as well as scanned photographs of some of my relatives that have since died. I try & shy away from using pictures of living folks without their permission, for obvious reasons.

This shot was taken from the Wyuka Website. It shows the fence running east & west along O Street in Lincoln. This fence also represents the southern boundary for the cemetery. Originally this fence was used to keep cattle off the grounds of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln circa 1880. Wyuka was founded as a place of rest for fallen soldiers of the War of the Rebellion. Counteless ancestors from many of my lines rest inside this fence.
