The frame of Bud's glasses broke on the hike in. With a little tape, the frame managed to hold up until the last day when the lens dropped out and skittered down through a pile of talus. It's probably a prized part of some marmot's junk collection now. To keep from getting too much UV, Bud taped up all but a small slit to make up for the lost lens. Not only did it look rather silly, in a pirate sort of way, it wasn't all that effective. You'll note that the rest of Bud's gear is all neatly sorted and almost ready for the hike out.
