Rodin in Istanbul, 2006

Master Sculptor, RODIN IN ISTANBUL

An Artist who is among the foremost innovators of the modern age…
On of the three great master sculptors of all time, along with Phidias and Michelangelo…

A creator who has left his mark on the human consciousness with the works like The Thinker, The Kiss, The gates of Hell, and Balzac…

Sabanci University’s Sakip Sabanci Museum is proud to be hosting work by this great master of the art sculpture in an exhibition which is a fitting sequel to the recent Picasso exhibition.

The Rodin Museum, which inherited the sculptor’s private collection as well as his own works, has loaned 203 pieces for this exhibition. As well as the famous works, the exhibition includes nearly a hundred other sculptors, drawings, photographs and some of the ancient statues in Rodin’s private collection.

All these make it possible to fallow Rodin’s Path from the works of this youth to those of his maturity while throwing light on lesser known aspects of his artistic life: his drawing and antiquities collection.
