Kusadasi is a nice resort town on the Aegean coast of Turkey. Its name means Bird Island. Over the years it became known for its sandy beaches, cruise lines’ visit and the summer homes for half of Turkey. These photos were taken on the day that the great forest fires took place up in the hills in the north-east direction of the town. You can see from these photos that there is a distinct tint of yellowish-brown in the sky due to the smoke in the air from the fires. Unfortunately, I was there for only 11 hours for a family gathering and I didn’t have much time for sight seeing. I have to make many more trips to Kusadasi in order to give due justice to her—one of the nicest places on the Aegean coast. Enjoy!...

And yes, I was there again just about six weeks later. Some pictures from the town, the harbor where the cruise ships come and the resort town of Davutlar where my aunt and her family spend their extended summers. I envy them a lot. Enjoy again!...
