Barnstormer in Windsor looking at Detroit.

Tommy Ivo - "The Barnstormer" - AA/FD - Windsor - Canada, 1963
"Here's one I don't think anyone has seen. It was taken on my 1963 tour in
Windsor Canada, just across the river from Detroit. (That's Detroit in the
background) I was doing a TV interview proceeding the weekend race at Detroit
Dragway. The interviewer asked how I made my money in order to be able to afford
to go around country drag racing? I quickly came up with the answer, that all
those stickers they see on the side of car are from the companies that pay for
the trip to give them exposure! (Stickers, ah yes, there's a word from the way,
way, past) I did this knowing the track manager/owner, Gill someone or other,
was so cheap he screwed his shoes on and wouldn't want anyone to know he was
paying me to show up. Yaaa, right. And I was his instant hero. By the way, see
those headers! Weed sprayers! When I went to England to race the next year they
had just come out with Zoomies, which I took off immediately upon arriving in
Jolly Ol', and put the weed sprayers back on because they made more noise.
WHO'S A HAM? Colorful worked!" Photo & Commentary from Tommy Ivo
