Sundance funny car with a HEMI

Sundance funny car might have a Keith Black hemi?

This car was fired and was running, got to the starting
line, the car lost pressure and did not make a pass. I
am guessing the motor probably cost ?? $25,000.00
It is smart to shut it down while still in one piece. The
motor looks like a hemi, might be a Keith Black Hemi

Racing at Speed World Sports Complex
take US 60 (grand Ave) Northwest 9 miles
past Bell Road and turn west on Jomax.

The complex is on the left. Admission is $10.00

Hello, Mr Knapp.

I knew Dennis Fowler a little in the mid and late 1970s, when He brought the Sundance to Alaska with Rick Johnson at the helm. He did in fact use Keith Black blocks and that was always mentioned by track announcers. I don't recall the heads' manufacturer, however.

He was a tad short handed in the pits in Alaska, so I helped spin wrenches. We shared a love for the Ford 1963 and 1/2 fastback Galaxie, each of us had one for our first car and sup'd 'em up.

There was frequently a problem of the parachute deploying on the burnout, so the race was run without it, resulting in regular trips into the finish line barrier.

The Plymouth Arrow that was the Sundance was sold to Randy Harris of Chugiak, who converted it to BB/FC. I saw Dennis again in 1978 at Seattle International Raceway with a new car, I believe it is the one in your gallery on page....which I seem to recall was a "Monza".

I hope this information is of some use to you.
