Tamil Nadu, the land of the Tamils, lies on the eastern coast of South-India bordered by Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. From 1987 I started to discover the unique Tamil culture and in 1994 I met Ochappan, a poor Tamil tricyle-man of Madurai. He inspired me to use the derived name oochappan to spot his world out looking over his shoulder.

awesome pictures !!! i am from chettinad and have always wanted to take snaps of my house. you have one of the best gallery of chettinad houses - and especially i enjoyed seeing those huge keys! We probably have 40-50 keys like that to the house and its pretty painful thinking back :)... awesome pictures though, hope u ll manage to keep updating them

Hi, I have gone through most of your photos and they are really impressive. I can appreciate some of your photos more than others because I am actually from Tamil Nadu. Just one thing though, the I noticed that the spelling of TamilNadu in Tamil is wrong...
