A little bit outside Madurai (5 km) you find the Ayainar Kovil, a Temple with very huge statues in front of the Sanctuorum (see here).

The moment I took the shot there was a function going on, kathani villa or ear-piercing celebration of a 4 year old boy and a 6 year old girl.

Entering the gate you are welcomed by the so well known beggars almost becoming part of the furniture of each known Temple in the South.
