Is This High Key.jpg

Also a newcomer to High Key...I wonder
if this fits the bill...should the background
be even whiter??? It was snowing like crazy
and was almost a natural white out high key
situation!!!!!!!!!!

Nice shot. Looks like a good attempt to me.
(What does the histogram do if the picture is cropped just below the window box? I think that would make it a stronger picture with the dock coming out of the corner...)

I like the warm red in the middle of the c-c-cold!
Barbara Heide29-Jan-2009 09:17
nice! for me it would be high key when you push the light and contrast till the details of the background disappearor ar reduced to single lines...it's just my interpretation...
Maaike Huizer29-Jan-2009 08:57
Don't know. Dob't think it is really high key. But who cares? It is a lovely scenery.
Norbert Fortelny29-Jan-2009 07:26

Here are some high key definitions. Some people say everything must be over exposed, but it says predominantly and mainly light tones.
If the building was slightly lighter, dono, but wonderfull shot...big V

An image comprising predominantly light tones and often imparting an ethereal or romantic appearance OR
HIGH KEY - An image that is mainly made up of light tones, which relatively few mid-tones or shadows.

If the building was gone it would be high key...
Evaristo Buendia Carrera29-Jan-2009 06:04
The bridge in the left of the picture is high key!! Interesting shot.
Laryl29-Jan-2009 05:55
high key isn't just about the background.. your background is plenty bright/white enough.. the house itself creates a rather large mound of info on the dark side of your histogram.. the idea is that the photo is mainly all on the right hand side.. the building here is just a bit much.. but it's a cool shot!
