The Road to Destruction is Paved with Intentions,
Rationalizations, Justifications, Denial,
Illusions, Excuses and Consent

It is said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. However, I would suggest that the road to hell is paved with intentions (minus constructive action), rationalizations, justifications, denials, illusions, excuses and consent.

What do travelers say when they are asked how they came to walk along the Road of Darkness?

• I have not seen, nor have I traveled on such a road before. Comfortable denial is a dish that is best served on a plate of blissful illusion.
• I'm a sinner, I can't help it. The idea of "original sin" is religious programming. There is nothing spiritual about this concept. Unfortunately, to many followers of religion, original sin is often viewed as "inescapable sin" which ends up being a great way to circumvent morality and personal responsibility. It is rather ironic that the concept of original sin actually encourages the very thing that it tries to condemn. This type of programming benefits not the growth of the individual, but the growth and the perpetuation of the corrupt system that we live in.
• I'm only human. This suggests that humans are somehow irreparably flawed (as is their behavior). This is not the case. We are just now beginning to see and understand (once again) everything that has been hidden from us for many millennia (including our true potential).
• Everybody else was doing it, so I did it too. A rather ridiculous, but common defense. Such a statement is usually followed up with the equally ridiculous response...if everyone jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?
• It was my job, I "had" to do it. Being a good employee of the system is not the same as being a good Being of Creation.
• The Devil "made" me do it. The "Devil" can't make anyone do anything.
• I didn't know any better. In this modern world of mass produced books, community libraries and the internet, is there really any valid excuse for ignorance?
• I was drunk, high, medicated or asleep (perhaps all four these days). The medication of self and the mass-drugging of society can sometimes provide a temporary escape from reality. However, such practices cannot hide the eventual reality of consequence.
• I was "ordered" to do it. True bravery is not about following orders in the face of danger. It is about standing up and doing the right thing, no matter what the situation may be. Honor and integrity are born from internal strength, not from external weakness.
• Nobody resisted, so I thought it was ok. An immoral act does not magically transform into a moral act just because there was no resistance to it (or nobody saw it). It is up to the individual to act morally and ethically, rather than expect those that were acted upon to recognize immoral or unethical behavior.
• Man's law said that it was ok to do this or that. When "constructed law" begins to override natural law and personal responsibility, this is when freedom ends and slavery begins. We should not be guided by, or bound to, any artificially constructed law that overrides natural law and moral law.
• I didn't want to cause any trouble or rock the boat. In other words, nice quiet comfortable slavery is preferable to willful, uncomfortable and noisy freedom. Freedom is uncomfortable, not by virtue, but by way of being something that is currently unknown to most people (and something that must be actively pursued).
• The system makes it too difficult to do the right thing. Doing the right thing isn't always easy today. However, it wasn't meant to be this difficult. The longer that the corrupt system survives, the more difficult that it will become to do the right thing. As tyranny and restrictions increase, freedom and choice decrease.
• I had to feed myself and my family. Eat today, starve tomorrow. Or stand up today, and live tomorrow. Positive and lasting change won't happen overnight. And it isn't likely to occur without some significant sacrifice. However, I would suggest that trading our global future (and freedom) for little personal comfort today, is not a very good trade at all. Change is coming. There is no question of that. The only real question is this, how painful do we want that change to be?
• That is what I was taught. Cultural, societal and generational programming/conditioning can be very difficult to overcome. Fortunately, there is a growing amount of information, from a variety of sources, that is addressing the problem of how to break free from the Matrix.
• I wanted (intended) to make a positive difference, I just never got around to it. This is one of the biggest traps out there. The system has been set up in such a way to keep us as busy and distracted as possible. Too many times, people convince themselves that someone else (with more time) will step in and create for them, what they have been gifted to be able to create for themselves. The gift of freewill should not be taken for granted (or one day we might end up losing it).
• I was afraid to do the right thing. Concern regarding losing employment, loss of social standing and personal ridicule are very powerful motivators of behavior. However, perhaps we should not fear what might come now with right action, but what will come in the future as a result of wrong action or inaction.
• I didn't agree with what was happening, but there was nothing that I could do about it. The system would like us to think that we are helpless as individuals. However, in reality, every single person makes a difference, every choice we make is relevant and every voice is important. It only takes one voice and one action to create a positive change in the world. Just think what would happen if many individual voices made the decision to come together, not as a "collective choir", but acting together in harmony as one within One.

Conclusion

During my many travels in this lifetime, I have come across very few truly evil people in the world (in relation to the whole). However, what I have seen (and continue to see) are many acts of evil committed on behalf of various evil entities (corporations, organizations, government, sociopaths and psychopaths).

As I have attempted to illustrate many times throughout this series, evil cannot exist (in the greater environment) unless it has sufficient people that are willing to support evil practices. Feed the good, and we live in a world of peace and harmony. Feed the evil, and we exist in a world of disharmony, pain and suffering. Honor the gift (and the proper use) of freewill, and we live in freedom. Forfeit the gift (and the proper use) of freewill, and we live in slavery. It really is that simple.

Who is at fault? Tyrannical governments? Evil organizations? Morally deficient multinationals? Corrupt corporations? Why are these things called "entities" (as if they were something separate from the people)? It is because the ego loves to hide behind masks and disguises. How many people work for the government as "administrators" in support of its practices? How many people work for Monsanto and its subsidiaries for a paycheck? How many people work for the police, the military and other "enforcement" agencies? How many people work for the system (as "agents" for the system)?

Why are there so many souls traveling together on the Road of Darkness right now? Because nobody wants to live in the Light alone. Think about that for a moment. Why must the rulers rule over others in the darkness? Because nobody would agree to be ruled over in the Light.

Corruption usually begins with just a few individuals. However, it always ends (usually quite badly) with the participation and support of the general population. Participate in freedom, not in corruption and pathological destruction.
