(Understanding How the Rise of Thelema is Leading to the Fall of Humanity)

The Road to Freedom is Found While Traveling
Along the Path of Discernment

"Do what thou wilt" is a phrase that comes from the Book of the Law. The Book of the Law is a text that was co-authored (channeled) by Aleister Crowley in 1904. Channeling is a practice whereby a person acts as a medium (or a conduit) for non-human entities to speak through (gods, spirits, ETs, angels, demons, ascended masters, descended masters, etc). The Book of the Law is similar to many other channeled works in that it is a mixed bag of both potentially useful/beneficial esoteric knowledge (light) and potentially harmful/misleading esoteric knowledge (dark).

Thelema

Thelema is a religion and a philosophy that is based on the work of Aleister Crowley and the Book of the Law. The main doctrine of Thelema is:

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will."

Translated, this means:

Do as you please, your Will (to do what you want) takes precedence over Love (caring, compassion, right action, responsibility, and morality). In effect, what this is saying is let our earthly passions and desires (ego), rule over the Spirit (higher consciousness). And let ignorance (blindness), rule over wisdom (awareness and understanding). And let the animal side of us (primal desires), rule over our intellect (intelligence and reasoning). Thelema is very similar to both mainstream and occulted forms of Satanism.

Discerning the Nature of the Pentagram

The five points of the pentagram represent the four elements of earth (the material world) plus a Fifth Element (the spirit, spark and light of consciousness). The four lower elements exist as only partial consciousness (elemental consciousness), while the Fifth Element represents the potential to bring full awareness (Light) to the whole when combined together properly.

The material elements cannot become whole (complete) without the help of the spiritual element. And the spiritual element cannot become whole (complete) without the help of the material elements.

In the Light (upright) Pentagram, the Spirit is above the four Earthly (material) elements and mind/consciousness is above the libido (carnal desires). The five elements are enclosed in a circle to represent balance and wholeness, but they are not caged in (i.e. the lines are broken). Balance (completeness) is created in the heart and the mind through Love and Will by bringing the five elements together in synergy (rather than attempting to imprison them together using external restraints or technology). The balance (within) is then transferred to the external environment (around/about) using Love and Will together in synergy.

• Fire represents our passions and desires (the Fire of creation). The Fire of creation is connected to the Light of Creation (Spirit).
• The Earth is our body. The body is connected to the Spirit. The Spirit is connected to the body (Earth) and the passions (Fire). The Spirit helps to bring balance to the material world (body, passions and desires).
• The Earth (body) is connected to Water. The body is made up of mostly Water. The Earth (body) is also connected to Spirit. "Baptism" of the body with Water (surrounding the body with water) helps to activate the Spirit within us and also helps to temper our "Fires" of creation (through an awareness and understanding of our connection with Water and the other elements).
• The Air is connected to Fire and Water. Within the elements of Air and Water are oxygen and hydrogen. If too much (or too little) oxygen or hydrogen is present in the Air, then the element of Fire can become suppressed or become explosive. If there is too much (or too little) oxygen or hydrogen present in the environment, then Water cannot form. Without Water the "body" cannot exist. And without Water, the passions of Fire can get out of control (and negatively impact the other elements).
• Everything is connected. Without the balance and the awareness of Spirit (the Fifth Element), the material world can "fall" into pathological chaos and destruction much more easily (please see below).
   

The Dark Star

(either through direct use or by way of doctrine).
 

In the Dark (inverted) Pentagram, the material world (earth) and the "fire" of our passions and desires rule over the Spirit (while the libido rules over mind and consciousness). The Spirit, the body and the other elements are imprisoned or caged inside of a closed circle (or a double closed circle). The "spirit" in the inverted pentagram is a dark spirit (or demon) that rules over the Light Spirit.

Dark occultists believe that they can call on the "dark spirits" and use them for power (while containing them within the circle). In dark occultism, the corrupted ego (a type of dark spirit) rules over the mind and consciousness (light spirit). Since the corrupted ego is blind, it thinks that it can control everything around it. However, looking around the world today, I would suggest that the darkness (pathogenic darkness) is roaming around quite freely right now.

• There is a reason why we have Five fingers and Five toes (on each hand and each foot). There is also a reason why we have Five senses.
• There is a reason why we have two arms for giving/taking, two legs for standing/walking and (usually) one head for thinking (Five). There is also a reason why we have two eyes to See, two ears to Hear and one mouth to Speak (Five).
• There is a reason why there are Five points on a Pentagram and why there are Five (main) elements associated with the Pentagram.
• Today most Christians view the Pentagram (in both of its forms) as something evil. However, up until about the medieval period, the Pentagram was actually used as a symbol for Christ (representing the Five Holy Wounds of Christ on the Cross). Although I have always found the image of Christ on the Cross to be rather disturbing, there is actually a deep (illuminating) esoteric meaning behind the (Five) symbols of Christ.

• There is a reason why Five (6+9+22+5) = 42, and why Nine (14+9+14+5) also = 42.
• There is a reason why "female" = 42 (6+5+13+1+12+5). The Earth is the "mother" of all life on this planet. The female being (in all of her forms) is the womb, the body and the nurturer of life. Without her, life could not exist. However, without the male, the female could not exist. The male brings new life to the female. And the female delivers new life to the male. The nurturing of the female is balanced with strength of the male. The "male" = 31 (13+1+12+5). The male brings balance to the female and helps to create unity within the family (Father, Mother, Child..or 3 to1).
• There is a reason why 42 is the Secret of the Universe and why 42 = (4+2) = 6.
• There is a reason why Six = 7, and why 7 = One (please see the letter/number key).
• There is a reason why 6 and 9 are interchangeable (and reversible).
• There is a reason why the Sixth Element has both a light side and a dark side. And there is a reason why Nine also has a light and a dark side (please see "18" in Keys to Understanding).
• There is a reason why Nikola Tesla was quoted as saying, "If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9 (3, 33, 333), then you would have a key to the universe". And there is a reason why he was also quoted as saying, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration".
• There is a reason why everything in this universe has both a light side and a dark side.
• Without the light and the dark, there is no choice, no freewill, no learning and no growth. Without learning and growth, there can be no wisdom.
• Without the light and the dark, creation stalls and Creation stagnates. And without wisdom (recognition and understanding of both the light and the dark), the light of knowledge can be misunderstood, misused and abused in the darkness and blindness of creation.
• Without an understanding of how we are connected to everything that exists around us (all of the elements in Creation), the light can become hidden (or over-shadowed) by darkness, ignorance and forgetfulness. As a result of this, the world (within and about) can "fall" (become inverted) into pathological chaos, pathological destruction and unnecessary suffering.

The Color of Numbers
 

• Red is the lowest frequency color of visible light, and violet is the highest frequency color of visible light. However, red is just as important as violet because it is the individual components of color together that help to create the Light that illuminates this world.
• Being pegged to either side of the light spectrum can cause imbalance in much the same way as remaining in the middle can cause imbalance. Independent movement, unhindered sight and awareness and understanding are what help to create true balance.
• How do the natural colors of red and violet become pathogenic? How do the natural polarities of light and dark become pathogenic? How do the natural elements of Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Spirit become pathogenic? Pathology occurs when an element, a color or a polarity is divided, separated or imbalanced in such a way that it becomes blinded to that which exists around it. How do human beings become pathogenic? In much the same manner (please see The Discernment of Creation - Part II).
• In order to understand Unity (One), it is important to understand the relationship between one and one (polarity).
• In order to understand Trinity (three), it is important to understand the relationship between three and one (3), and three and two (33), and three and three (333).
• In order to understand the Fifth Element (Five), One (unity) must understand two (polarity). And three (trinity) must understand One (unity).
• In order to connect more than two elements together, it is important to understand how linear elements are connected to each other on a multi-dimensional (non-linear) level.
• In order to properly balance the Five Elements, it is important that one understands the relationship that the Sixth Element (Love/Will) has to the Five Elements and the Five Trinities that surround it (please refer to the images above and to the letter/number key).
• The Five Trinities are Earth/Fire/Spirit  and  Air/Earth/Water  and  Spirit/Air/Fire  and  Water/Spirit/Earth  and  Fire/Water/Air.
• Five = (6+9+22+5) = 42
• 42 = (4+2) = 6
• Six = (19+9+24) = 52 = 7
• 7 = One
• Five Trinities = (5 x 3) = 15  and  15 = (1+5) = 6  and  Six = 7  and  7 = One

Conclusion

Bright Stars bring light into Creation through imagination, knowledge, awareness, understanding, action, compassion and Wisdom (the benevolent "Fire" of responsible creation).

Dark Stars bring darkness into Creation through ignorance, blindness and a corruption, distortion and inversion of the light (the pathological "fire" of irresponsible creation).
 

Note: Bright Stars and Dark Stars are used here as descriptive terms only. This isn't necessarily intended to relate to (or be descriptive of) other types of phenomena in the universe such as day, night, up, down, "light matter", "dark matter", suns, black holes, etc.

Can Love alone change the world for the better? Or, does Love need to be balanced with Will in order to be most effective? Actually, a little Love does go a long way. However, when Love of Truth, Love of Knowledge, Love of Compassion, Love of Justice, Love of Freedom, Love of Understanding, Love of Discernment, Love of Wisdom, Love of Ourselves, Love of Others and Love of Creation is combined with Will, then Love is a true "Force" to be reckoned with (both in this world, and in any other world that we may encounter).

Footnote 1

There are many different forms of Thelema and Satanism in the world (under many different names). It is not my intention with this essay to blindly categorize them or group them all together under one label. However, that being said, most forms of Thelema and Satanism are Left-Hand Path (Dark Star) religions and philosophies. Many times these philosophies start out with the intent of providing individual and spiritual empowerment, but then quickly "fall" or degenerate into dis-empowerment (which ends up feeding the "passions and desires" and "fires" of those that exist above them). For more information on this topic, please see the entries for Live and Let Live and Morality in the Glossary.

There is pathological individualism and there is also pathological collectivism. Neither one is correct. They both lead down the same dark road towards pathological destruction.

The philosophies of Thelema, Satanism and Dark Occultism help to create pathological individualism which encourages (and reinforces) pathological division within society (which supports the few at the expense of the many). On the other hand, pathological collectivism helps to create pathological conformity which encourages apathy within society (which supports the few at the expense of the many). Similarly, the pursuit of artificial balance (through social engineering) helps to create pathological "unity" (unnatural unity) which also encourages apathy in society (which supports the few at the expense of the many).

True equilibrium (natural balance) is not found through centrally administered social programs. Nor is it reached through the mass drugging of society (as seen in the movie "Equilibrium" and in our present society). It is not found in the worship of oneself or in the worship of someone (or something) else. Equilibrium is found in the practice and the pursuit of Knowledge, Awareness and Understanding (of both one and One).
 

Footnote 2

In order to help keep this segment as concise and understandable as possible, I decided to break it up into two parts. Understanding the information that is presented here in Part One is essential to understanding the information that will be presented in Part Two.

As discussed in the Glossary (and in other parts of this series), the true nature of a disease can only be properly diagnosed (and addressed) through a thorough understanding of its symptoms. Thus, understanding the negative helps us get to the root of the problem and to subsequently create positive and lasting change. Treating the symptoms does not cure the disease. It only temporarily covers up its roots.

In Part Two, I'm going to have to travel down some dark roads in order to help illustrate the nature of the "disease". However, in doing so, I hope to clearly explain (and help others to see and understand) why there is so much darkness and suffering in the world today. Most importantly, I hope to provide a clear and simple solution for how we can increase Love (and reduce suffering) in the world by transmuting the darkness into Light.
