1st - C80 TREES - Redbud & Dogwood - Drummer
by David Williams

Taken on Hunting Creek near Cunningham Falls, Maryland. It was a great overcast and misty morning. Fog had just started to settle in.

This a beautiful shot, I thought when I first saw it that it was a Smoky Mountain picture, I guess we here in Tennessee do not have a lock on foggy air, redbuds and dogwood :)

Thanks very much! And to think I almost slept in this morning.

I tried B&W after Alistair's suggestion and it does work but not quite the same.

Even the water does not roar here - perfect subdued treatment on a scene that is already overpowering. THe hints of color really get you soaring! Hmmmmph!

Oh man David! Just when I'm thinking these entries couldn't get any more fantastic....well, yet another shot to vie for first place votes! The damp fog mood and the great dark pink blooms on the tree, the sound of the water rolling over the rocks. You found it all David, and composed a great shot!

This is absolutely gorgeous, and your title nicely calls out the subtle highlights above the creek. Terrific all around.

Super-nice. B&W worth a go as well maybe? Alistair

You have caught masterly the spirit of this place. I feel that I can sink my hand in the creek, drink a sip of water and then continue my stroll... endika

Oh my, this is so nice, the splash of pink really makes a great shot fantastic.
Composition, blur in the water are just perfect.
Looks like you had great conditions for a cascade shot too, overcast and a bit misty, where is this, somewhere in Virginia?
