A beautiful scene - and the touch of red is so subtle! There are several interesting elements here, from the lovely sky, to the people on the lawn, to the sedimentary cliff half-hidden by shadow. Brenda

It's amazing what the color red can do to what would otherwise be just a snapshot. A beautiful composition. the lighting is perfect. It seemed a wonderful day for a picnic. Beautiful location.

Thanks for your comment Shirley. It's a tree native to New Zealand, locally also called the "New Zealand Christmas" tree as it flowers around that time of year.

Wow, this one is a surprise when you view it full sized! What an amazing tree. What an amazing shot! I love the people under its shade to show how large the tree is and is that red flowers on the tree? Is it blooming? I would love to know more about it. Thanks so much for entering this great photo.
