This is ethereal - as if we're glimpsing another cosmos, one in which images of our own are imprinted like insubstantial phantoms in the fabric of the air.

It took me awhile to realize that this was a face. It has a smoky quality, very surrealistic. Then it clicked and I couldn't look away.

Wonderful shot!

It seems the image is carved from smoke... well done- no hint you were shooting thru plexi

This sculpture is magical isn't it! Perfectly suited for this theme too.

HUUUH! Thanks, Brent. I'm better now. I really have to be not that quick with My jokes. Well I'm learning. Still 56 y. young.:-)

no need to apologize Miro - in my belief as he hung there he certainly did go into a hell - very apt description.

I have to apologize. My joke about possible tittle was stupid, but I didn't know where you take you shot and what it represent. Colors and shapes (flame like) leads Me to association about the tittle.

Hello all - thanks for the comments. This is pretty much a straight up shot. It was taken from a piece called the Cross of the Millenium. The sculptor is Fredrick Hart and is on display at the Basillica of St Mary in Downtown Minneapolis. The cross is clear (glass or acryllic?) and suspended inside is a transparent figure of Christ (Christ in the cross). As you walk around the cross there are the most amazing shapes and transformations that take place.

I have no idea how you did this, but it is so surreal and ethereal and spooky, maybe the correct adjective is creative.

WOW Brent, I love the capture and the color lends itself to the emotion expressed on the face could also be sorrow, longing, dispare.

Oh, Brent. This is an awesome image - insanely creative and right on theme. Some day maybe I'll figure out how you do things like this but, unless you offer lessons, that day is probably a long way off. I love this.

Burn in Hell :-).Other possible tittle.
I really like this one. It perfectly shows what tittle say and right on theme. Like color and composition too.
