Is is a cicada? That's what I thought of right away when I saw it. I used to play with them as a child. They made great short time pets. Ha!

I love this too! You'll have to let us know where you found this. I mean, is it a real bug, or a great weather vane or something of that sort? It looks like it is made of metal and glass/plexiglass. If it is a real bug, wowza! What a shot!
