We have similar posts here, made from hackmatack which would presumably be the same species under a different name. The shot is lovely - it captures the wintry atmosphere so well. The textures of the snowy pines are especially pleasing.

Very nice Henry, it does indeed look like a shot he might take with white sand instead of white snow. :o) Your surroundings look very similar to ours here, we need a fresh coating to bring back the beauty again. Like white washing a fence, the new snow fall brightens up the old stuff.

This old fence line marks the passing seasons for me the posts are split Western Larch from standing dead trees, they have been standing for close to 100 years
