Phantastic! A great eye catcher. Theres also a big (victory?) smile in there.

A really cool strobist shot. Thanks for sharing the setup.

The only small flaw i can find is in the skin of the tomatoe itself.

Frank thanks for the explanation of the lighting set-up, I’ll have to give this one a go myself one rainy day (shouldn’t be too long to wait!)
So because the tomato is between the soft box and the rest of the glass, it's the tomato that provides the gobo for the dark field underneath. I never thought of using something within the shot itself to do this. Brilliant!

Wonderful colours and light. A winner.

Thanks everyone. The setup is fairly simple - 1 strobe with blue gel low down for the background. This provides the bright field lighting for the glass and the graduated BG. One more strobe with softbox straight above the glass to illuminate the tomato and provide (dark field) rim lighting. Polarizing filter to reduce any speculars in tomato. Gobo to keep softbox from illuminating background.

Hey Frank, I'll drink to this one. It's just over-the-top great. Like Colin, I hope you'[ll share the setup.

This is brilliant, literally and figuratively.

Woa Frank! What a cracker of a studio shot, simply great lighting (you must share the set-up).
Looks like a mix of light and dark field, very hard to get right for glass and even harder to also have a solid object well lit too

It is shots like this that truely make it a shame that we are relagated to 800px max. Exquisite. Elegant. Crisp.
