Panasonic Lumix LX3-Test

here are some first test-shots from my brand new LX3
i have to say that i really like this little camera. especially at raw it produces great image quality up to iso400 without the need of extra noise-reduction. even iso800 is usable with some slight post-processing. with some limit-pushing iso1600 might come in handy too. silkypix is the only raw-converter now that supports raw-files from the LX3, i hope to make some further tests as soon as other converters start supporting LX3-files.

unfortunately my model seems to have a misaligned lens or something, i would never expect something like this from a leica-branded lens.
on some photos large parts are out of focus without reason. check http://www.pbase.com/oluv/image/101672081/original and http://www.pbase.com/oluv/image/101672124/original
http://www.pbase.com/oluv/image/101662925/original has a blurred left side, and http://www.pbase.com/oluv/image/101670624/original is blurred at the bottom.

all samples were taken freehand, inspite of the great optical image stabilizer some slight blur due to camera shake might be visible in the low-light images.

ps: i finally decided to return my LX3 because of the bad optics. i have already seen other users having the same problem with a blurred left side. now i am waiting to see how this will evolve before buying a new one.
