The Brambling L 14-16cm (5.5-6.3") breeds normally in Evergreen needleleaf forest in Northern Europe and the Fennoscandinavian birch forests. The form and size is like the Chaffinch, but is recognized at the white rump and weak or none white tail flanks. The wing bars is rust yellow. During the wintertime the bill is yellow with a dark tip, the breast is orange, dark small spots on the flanks, beige belly and light brown legs. |
