Here are a few shorebirds that cooperated today at Ensley. The numbers have tripled this week and new species appear almost every day. The thunder storms really set the birds down. The Willet allowed very close approach as did some others but the dowitchers stayed out a ways. I did get a few detail shots through the scope of the Long-billed Dowitcher.

Thanks for sharing your photos. It must be nice to be right on the Mississippi flyway. Here in western VA we don't get many shorebirds or waterfowl. However, we do get our share of warblers and other passerines. I don't always comment, but I do enjoy your photos. They are always informative and entertaining.
