Tunica Co, MS just 18 miles south of the TN line. This first bird was seen in almost the exact location where I found the Ferruginous a couple of years ago. Q. B. Gray had seen a single bird two days before hunting a field about a half mile to the east.

Seeing four Rough-legged Hawks in the same field, with 2 in the same scope view kiting, was a real treat. For sure a high one time number for me. I spent 4 hours with these birds and was rewarded for the time spent. This immature light morph stayed perched low to the ground. It had less mottling on the back than the other two immatures seen at the same time.
