The Merlin sat for a portrait shot and was too intent looking for prey to worry about me. As usual its true nature revealed itself as it shot from its perch to dive on its much larger cousin, a Peregrine that did not tarry. She came back to the perch to again take up a sea watch. I've seen Merlins in straight line flight make a 90 degree turn, to go a quarter of a mile out of their way, just to taunt another raptor. Feisty comes in small packages.
