This is the pale bird photographed above Pickwick Dam. Note the pattern is not as course as on the darker bird. Again, note the all dark bill with evenly curved culmen, dark smudge at the eye, even coloration of body with brown, light edged primaries, centers of tertials slightly darker than ground color of body with light fringes. I think the leg color on these birds is a deeper pink, certainly the feet are an almost purplish pink when seen raised.
