This Red-tailed Hawk was photographed in north Alabama. It was almost all white with a little dark feathering on the back of the head, a few dark flecks on the breast, 2 dark tail feathers and in flight there were about 3 or 4 dark colored primaries randomly distributed on the wings. This bird also had a pale bill and talons, that I was able to photograph. Occasionally a few pure white Red-tails with pale whitish bills and talons appear but they have the normal dark eye coloration and therefore are not albinos. I have seen photos of these birds and they are strikingly beautiful.
