Hudsonian Godwits -TN-AL - Spring 2004 and 2008

This year there has been a definite eastward shift of migrating shorebirds that usuallly pass to the west of the Mississippi River. Baird's Sandpipers and Hudsonian Godwit have been showing up in good numbers scattered all across the southeast. Here are a couple that I have been fortunate enough to find.

Thanks again for additional identification points, this time on the godwit. I spoke to you briefly at the Dauphin Island airport during AOS and expressed my appreciation for the id tips you have posted. I keep a file on my hard drive called OLCOOTIDS so I can referr to them as needed.
