This adult California Gull was found resting among Ring-billed Gulls at Pace Point in the Big Sandy Unit of the Tennessee NWR in Henry Co. TN -Feb. 25, 2004. I thought the photos might be of interest as to how the subtle changes of sun and body angle made the bird either stand out in the crowd or disappear. This is my first adult of this species in TN after finding quite a few immature since 1996. Click on the thumbnails and view at original size.
