La Cruda

My friend Sarah thought it would be cool to draw an image of Muerta all cruda (hungover).
Instead of doing a woodburning, I decide to paint it with watercolors on 11x 14 watercolor paper.

La Cruda is a watercolor painting done in Muerto Style for Dia De Los Muertos,
the painting basically tells the story of a young girl that stayed out really
late one night partying a little to hard. In the trash can is a Von plastic bag
full of empyt beer cans. On the floor are more cans and her uneatten Mcdonalds
combo. The clock on the wall shows that it is 4 a.m., next to the clock is the
black velvet virgin mary painting (exactly like the one I had in my room when
I was a little girl and a wooden cross. Which represent my last name De La Cruz
of the cross). On the bed is her cell phone, napkin with Jose's phone number
drunk dialing again) and an ice pack for her hangover. There are so many other
little details like her red painted finger nails and toe nails, the red rose
Jose gave her slipping from her hand as she starts to fall asleep. The sheets
coming of her bed. Then there is also are shoes, purse with her money falling
out and keys on the floor. On her night stand is a can of beer and clamato
juice for the hangover.
