Here are just some photos I took while on vacation in Hà Nội and the Northern Highlands of Sa Pa, between December 11-21, 2003.

WOW! great photos of VN, my native country. I've been in USA since 1980 and never been back yet. Will try to get back soon and take lots of photos. Thanks for sharing!

While looking around for pictures of Vietnam I came across yours and I am very impressed by them; especially the very "natural" looking SaPa gallery portraits have made me very anxious to try and match (or even beat (?)) them when I visit there in May of 2004.

Excellent pictures Tim,

I was in Vietnam in September 2002, having only a Nikon Coolpix to immortalize its beautiful people and surroundings. I definetely prefer your Sapa gallery, as it was the highlight of my trip. wish I could go back soon, this time with my more appropriate Canon gear ; seeing you carried it around on your hiking journey, it can't be that bad, right ? I bet you don't even remember you had to lug all this heavy equipment around !
