Thanks so much for providing these photos. I had to replace the battery door and wouldn't have known how to do it if it weren't for your photo instructions. The only thing that wasn't in your photos was the transfer of the door lock and metal plates inside the battery door (the new door part does not come with those) but that was easy to figure out. I've extended the life of a good 6-year old camera!

I'm glad I have found this workshop on the internet. With these instructions I have replaced the capacitor in my Olympus C-750. When my camera was about five years old (a half year ago) I noticed there was no memory at all for date and other personal adjustments to the camera when replacing the batteries, which was very irritating.
Replacement of the capacitor wasn't an easy job. I have quiet good screwdrivers but I damaged two screws of the hotshoe so I had to use a small drill to come through this. Maybe my optician can provide me with these screws which are very small and not very solid. And the soldering of the new capacitor was rather difficult as there is almost no room for the tip of the soldering iron. The XD-card holder is very close next and a little above the capacitor.
I have used the Panasonic capacitor EECEN0F204RK. I couldn't order it through Farnell (not for endcustomers) but I've ordered it through Rotor Amsterdam b.v. (www.rotor.eu). Including shipping 18 euro... but still OK because professional repair costs around 100 euro and that is about the value of the camera.
Thanks, Marc - Zeewolde - The Netherlands.
