Our family chose Elway from a picture on the OBR website. He had been found in a high kill shelter along with another dog. They were named Dugan and Dundee and they caught our eye as soon as they were listed on the website. Dugan was already spoken for, so we picked Dundee and soon changed his name to Elway (John Elway of course!) He was our family Christmas present and we drove to Ohio from Atlantic City, NJ on December 22, 2006 He ran to our daughter Natalie, licked her face and we all fell in love with him. He jumped in the back seat and happily hung out on the 8 hour trip home! He was a wonderful dog, full of personality and always looking for a snack! He was only with us for three months, but we loved him enough for a lifetime. He knew he found his forever home. He was diagnosed with a serious form of anemia that we believe was caused by a form of cancer or heart problems. We tried desperately to save him, but there was nothing we could do. He made his journey to Rainbow Bridge on March 26, 2007. He will always remain in his forever home - he was buried in our yard where he can rest in his favorite spot in the sunshine. And most of all he will always remain in our hearts.
Rest in Peace Elway, we miss you.
