Really impressive images. Especially on those of March 12th 2009 the constellation of Orion is making it extra nice. It's great to be part of that natural phenomenon at your hometown through modern techniques like Internet.

weve had a stunning display once in 2005 i think it was but nothing since
i love aurora your photos fill me with something i cant describe sort of joy and awe togther
one day ill get up to the artic circle and see for myself
keep photographing

Hi Guest, it is a hard question, to answer. Since, Auroas comes in many different colors, but it has been a long time since I saw another color than Green. The camera is set to long exposier, high ISO and I use different optics and F-stop. Normally I use raw and set the WB to sunshine, but when there is snow and citylight, I usually go after white snow. The Img_25xx, is a littel more yello, that i remember, the color, but it is still inside the spectrum, of what one can experience. The Green in Img_37xx, I feel, is closer to what we usually see up here. But in the end, the pictures are more an expression of what I see and feel, than an acurat rendering. Regards Rune

What do you do for white balance to be sure the aurora color has fidelity…
